Course Description
The Coronavirus has dramatically impacted the travel industry, which is the largest industry in Florida. The cruise, airline, and other suppliers canceled or significantly changed your travel plans. This lecture will address what rights you have concerning these issues. It will also include a discussion of travel insurance, whether it is worthwhile, how to comparison shop rates, and how the pre-existing condition clause can impact insurance coverage. Consumer tips to protect the traveler when purchasing travel, including buying two one-way tickets instead of a roundtrip ticket in domestic air transportation, booking directly with a hotel website rather than through a third party, and related issues will be discussed.Course Info

About the Instructor

Jeff Miller, JD, MBA is a full time faculty member at Florida Atlantic University in the College of Business, Hospitality Management program. He is also an attorney who has specialized in travel industry issues for 48 years. He has published several books including three editions of The Legal Aspects of Travel Agency Operations, has lectured, presented seminars and workshops more than 300 times throughout the world. He is also Legal Editor of Insider Travel Report and has written a monthly column in trade publications for the travel industry for 29 years. He is also widely quoted in the trade, business and daily press on travel related matters.
