Course Description

Is there a frustrated writer inside you eager to roam free? Have you found writing classes overly formal and restrictive? Or have you loved them all and are looking for more? Come join our intimate, hands-on writing workshop. You'll enjoy a safe space in which to share interesting, useful writing exercises with like-minded individuals. All levels of experience and expertise are welcome. Sessions consist of facilitator introduction, writing exercises, volunteers' reading of their own work, and group coaching support. Prepare to be amazed at your progress!

About the Instructor

  • Caren S. Neile, Ph.D., has taught storytelling studies and writing at FAU, FIU and other institutions for over two decades. Her numerous publications include the books "The Great American Story" (Lambert Academic), "Florida Lore" and "Only in Florida" (both History Press) and her latest book, "Peninnah's World" (Hamilton Books). Dr. Neile has ghostwritten and edited memoirs and other work for numerous clients, and her work is featured in books such as "The Oxford Handbook of American Folklore and Folklife Studies."
