Course Description

Alexander Wu is equally at home performing classical music or jazz as he also illustrates, from his second solo CD, "Bach to the Future", the links between these musical forms with beautifully chosen comparisons of pieces by a variety of composers from Bach, Chopin and Debussy to Ellington, Gershwin and Brubeck. It's an evening of musical magic not to be missed! YouTube Concert Video Playlist - Performed at "Live! Recently, Mr. Wu has given performances and master classes at the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Steinway Series at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, National Gallery of Art, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, 92Y, Merkin Concert Hall, Armor Hall at Wave Hill, Bargemusic, Bard College, Mannes College–The New School, Hofstra University, Trinity Church Wall Street, South Florida's Norton Museum of Art, Bass Museum, Art Complex Museum (Ma), Steinway Gallery, BACA and Florida Atlantic University, and Musikfest (PA). Mr. Wu’s discography, available on cdbaby.com and itunes.com, includes his two solo CDs, Bach to the Future: Classical & Jazz Piano and Rhythm Road across the Americas, a Broadway to Classical piano four-hand CD-Four Hand Band, a crossover chamber jazz band CD self-titled ZigZag Quartet and, the much anticipated all Gershwin piano solo CD to be released in fall 2021. A California native, Mr. Wu is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the City College at City University of New York where he served on the piano faculty.
