Course Description

The two brothers of President John F. Kennedy made major contributions to American politics and history. In this lecture, the life and significance of Robert Kennedy will be analyzed in detail. Robert Kennedy would serve as Attorney General of the United States under his brother; win a Senate seat in New York; and campaign for President in 1968, until his tragic assassination in June 1968. His impact on American history remains profound a half-century after his death. Questions and comments are welcome at the end of the lecture.

About the Instructor

  • Ronald Feinman, Ph.D., has been a professor of American history, government and politics for the past five decades, and an adjunct professor of history and political science at Florida Atlantic University since 1989. He earned a doctoral degree from City University of NY (CUNY). He is the author of two books, including a recent one titled "Presidential Assassinations and Threats"; a book reviewer for scholarly journals; a regular contributor to the History News Network (HNN); a regular public affairs contributor to WWGH 107.1 FM, Marion, Ohio; and a member of the FAU Speakers Bureau; and has given lectures to many diverse groups over the past 20 years.  Feinman blogs about politics and history at theprogressiveprofessor.com.
