Dramawise: 12 Angry Men

Gary Cadwallader

Course Description

In New York City in 1954, twelve men gather to decide the fate of a teenager on trial for murder. In this gripping classic play by Reginald Rose, the best and worst qualities of human behavior reveal themselves in a true test of democracy in action. This interactive discussion examines the characters, their relationships, the play's central themes, and today's sociological relevance. Interesting multimedia clips supporting the discussion will enhance the understanding of the production. Participants receive a copy of the play beforehand and an informative PBD Dramaguide written specifically for this discussion. Participants leave with a deeper understanding of the play and what it means to be a jury of peers. Space is limited.
