Course Description

As 2019 is ending, Dr. Walid Phares, a seasoned expert in international relations, a former advisor to two Presidential candidates and current advisor to lawmakers in the U.S. and Europe and leaders in the Middle East, will project the main geopolitical threats to rise and explode in 2020, and signal the coming of hopes for conflict resolutions, peace, and victories over terror. Phares, who predicted the mutation of urban Jihadism in his celebrated book, Future Jihad, in 2005, the Arab Spring in his prescient book, The Coming Revolution in 2010, and the rise of ISIS and the saga of the Iran Deal in his book The Lost Spring, in 2014, will project major developments to affect U.S. foreign policy and national security in 2020. That year, Americans will debate the choices available for them in national policies and will vote for the next President of the United States. Dr. Phares will identify the crises faced by the country and present the most likely arguments to be debated in foreign and national security policies including: Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, ISIS, Afghanistan, Libya, Russia, China, North Korea, Venezuela, Brazil, U.S. borders and homeland security.
