Course Description

Opening with an introduction by Julie Pilitsis MD, Dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine (COM) and Vice President for Health Affairs, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), this program delves into Nobel Prize-winning physician, Paul Ehrlich's, popularized notion of a "magic bullet" (magische Kugel), an ideal therapeutic agent. In the United States today, the totality of evidence indicates that the closest thing to a "magic bullet" is regular physical activity. If physical activity were a pill, most Americans would gladly take it! However, as a therapeutic lifestyle, only about 1 in 5 Americans reach even the minimum daily requirement. You will learn the many benefits of regular physical activity and simple measures to improve the quality and quantity of your life, whatever your age or functional status.
