This past August, we commemorated the 25th anniversary of the tragic death of Princess Diana in a car crash in Paris. Significant questions still remain unanswered about the circumstances of her death. Was it, as the bulk of the media suggested, a simple case of drunk driving? Were there extenuating circumstances indicating premeditated manslaughter? Was there involvement of intelligence services in the tragedy? Steinberg was directly involved in the investigation following the Paris crash, with access to security camera footage, eyewitness debriefings, and court records. While media focused on speculation about Princess Diana's relationship with Dodi Fayed, the son of Mohammed al Fayed, owner of the famous Harrods Department Store in London, the backdrop to the 'Death of a Princess' was anything but the makings of soap opera or reality TV. She was a prominent figure on the world stage, her failed marriage to Prince Charles badly damaged the image of the Royal Family. All of these aspects will be explored.
