About the Instructor

  • Congressman Ted Deutch represents Florida's 22nd district, home to communities in northern Broward County and southeastern Palm Beach County. Now serving his sixth term in the 116th Congress, he is the Chairman of the House Ethics Committee and a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he serves as the Chairman of the Middle East, North Africa, and International Terrorism Subcommittee. Congressman Ted Deutch’s priorities in the 116th Congress include promoting economic opportunity in South Florida, reducing the influence of big money in our elections, gun violence prevention, fighting for full equality for all, and advancing the security interests of the United States, Israel, and our allies.

    Ralph Nurnberger, PhD taught History and International Relations at Georgetown University for 38 years. He received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Graduate School of Liberal Studies in 2003. Nurnberger served on the professional staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Legislative Liaison for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). He received his BA from Queens College, his MA from Columbia University and his PhD from Georgetown University.
